High tech education conference uses ePolk’s Roberts as Network Architect
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – ePolk, Inc.’s Ryan Roberts will serve as Network Architect for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference, taking place June 24 – 27 in San Diego, Calif. This is the third year that Roberts has been chosen for the annual event focused on the latest developments in learning and teaching technology.
Roberts, along with ePolk’s Titus James, will create a wired and wireless network at the 2.6 million square foot San Diego Convention Center. The event, formerly called the National Education Computing Conference, is now in its 33rd year. It is considered one of the world’s largest education technology expos, bringing together attendees from 60 countries and requiring a network to support over 17,000 simultaneous users.
“With the conference held in a different city every year, it requires starting from scratch to build the network,” said Roberts. “Last year in Philadelphia, we used over six miles of network cable, 500 wired drops and 498 wireless radios,” Roberts added.
