The Gift Fruit industry’s unique packing and shipping procedures inspired one of our latest custom software projects.  ePolk has created a new shopping cart enhancement for Ridge Island Groves’ web site, which makes ordering fresh fruit significantly easier – for not only the customer, but also the company.   ePolk’s software developers designed  the site to allow internet shoppers to customize their order in several ways.  Each box of fruit consists of four trays, which can now be divided into four different varieties. A multiple recipient feature has also been added which simplifies sending gifts to several addresses in one transaction.  This option gives customers a one-stop shopping experience, eliminates redundant entries and saves them time.

Overall gift fruit orders have increased since the new shopping cart debuted, along with improved efficiency in processing internet orders.  Archie Ritch, owner of Ridge Island Groves says “we’ve had a lot of positive feedback from customers.”  Ritch knows that more and more consumers are using the internet as their primary information source, and Ridge Island Groves, with its Old Florida Grove Stand appeal is no exception.  He notes that a lot of new customers come to visit the packing house after visiting the Web site first.  More choices allow Ridge Island Groves to meet the needs of more customers – and that’s good for business.
